Investor, Advisor and Director.

One of Afterpay’s first employees and a key member of the Afterpay Executive Team from inception in 2015 until late 2019.

In this time Afterpay grew to over 7 million customers and 35,000 merchants across Australia, NZ, the US and the UK. Richard worked closely with the founders to establish the business and market opportunity including-

• Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as Afterpay debuted on the ASX

• Chief Risk Officer (CRO) responsible for the design and development of the Afterpay real time decision engine

• Executive for Business Expansion launching Afterpay in the Health and Travel verticals.

Prior to Afterpay Richard  had a 15 year career in retail banking in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. Senior roles included; Country Head of Commonwealth Bank in Japan, Head of the Retail Bank for Vietnam International Bank and GM Finance (Retail Distribution) for the Commonwealth Bank in Australia.
